“Carol Santora Juried
Signature Member of Pastel Society of America”
Kennebunk, ME - Kennebunk artist Carol A Santora has been elected
a Signature Member of the Pastel Society of America. Founded in 1972
by Flora B.
Giffuni, the Pastel Society of America (PSA) is the oldest, most important
Society in America. PSA is largely responsible for the current renaissance
of pastels in American art. The Society's outstanding annual exhibitions
at The National Arts Club in New York are the premier event for pastel
artists in this country and abroad. The Society's name is synonymous
with excellence. They are the undisputed leader in the medium.
All artists are juried for membership in the Society. Those meeting the standards
of professional excellence set by the Jury of Admissions are elected to
Signature Artist Membership. Those who do not achieve the signature designation
may qualify for Associate Artist Membership. Signature Artist members are
privileged to use the PSA initials after their name, a meaningful designation
in the art community and for potential art buyers.
“I am deeply honored and proud to receive the distinction of Signature
Member of the pastel Society of America,” Santora said. “I have
been painting for more than twenty-five years and I have received over four
dozen awards including several First Place, People’s Choice, and Best
in Show awards including a national award from the Susan K Black Foundation
in 2008, but this is the ultimate prize in my career to date.” Her
work is represented at the Wright Gallery, Cape Porpoise, the Carver Hill
Gallery, Rockport, ME, and in season at the Northlight Gallery,
Kennebunkport.
Santora’s works can be seen online at www.carolsantora.com and
by chance and
appointment at her gallery on Fletcher St.
